The Old Rectory〔The Buildings of England: Northamptonshire (Bailey, Pevsner & Cherry 2013) ISBN 978-0-300-18507-2〕 is a Grade II * listed building located in the centre of Stanwick in East Northamptonshire, close to the parish church. ==History== The Old Rectory was rebuilt in 1717 by Sir James Burrough〔A Biographical Dictionary of British Architects 1600-1840 (Howard Colvin Third Edition 1995) ISBN 0-300-07207-4〕 (1691–1764) for the local rector, Doctor Peter Needham (1680–1731) and cost £1,000. It was described by Doctor Richard Cumberland in his memoirs as being a handsome square of four equal fronts, built of stone, containing four rooms on a floor, with a gallery running through the centre.〔Memoirs of Richard Cumberland (R Cumberland 1806)〕
